Steffen Kreuzer

Since 1994 the German born musician Steffen Kreuzer is using glass for musical purposes.
His self constructed instrument consists of 32 ordinary drinking glasses and has a pitch range of two and a half octaves. It is played by moistened fingertips moving along the rim. Special techniques allow to play chords, tremoli, glissandi, trills, arpeggios, tone cluster, spectral glides and other effects. All compositions are specially made for this unique instrument and show the various possibilities of the so-called 'glass harp'.
Influenced by minimal music, chill out music, Indian classical music and psychedelic sound-effects a unique sound-world of almost hypnotic effect is created.
